Frequently asked questions
“I have been part of Alongside for a year now. It really helps to have a support system after you have a baby. Thank you to the ladies at Alongside.”
How does the mentoring program work?
Moms are paired with a mentor mom who offers guidance, support, and advice based on their own experiences with parenting. Your mentor mom will be a great listener who offers suggestions and guidance.
How often do I meet with my mentor? Where do we meet?
Moms meet with their mentor moms once a month. (You can always meet more often, if schedules allow.). We know that transportation can sometimes be an issue, so your mentor will come to your area of town. Visits can be in coffee shops, restaurants, the library, or the park. You and your mentor mom will decide what works best.
How do the diapers and wipes work?
Alongside offers a diaper and wipe benefit for moms participating in our program. When you meet with your mentor mom for a visit, she will bring a box of diapers and wipes. The monthly diaper and wipe benefit is about $30.00-$35.00 per month. We provide diapers up to size 6.
Do I have to be a Christian to participate in the program?
There are no religious requirements to participate in our program.
What are the requirements for being in the program?
